Story
Jane Paine, née Roberts, daughter of Pierce Roberts, carpenter, and his wife, Mary. As a young woman, she worked as an elementary school teacher.
Jane married William Paine, son of Richard Paine and his wife, Elizabeth, née Plunkett, in June 1886,at Garth Chapel, (Welsh Calvinist Methodist) , Portmadoc, (also called Porthmadog). William was a chemist. The couple lived near Bristol where their first daughter Mary Elizabeth was born in 1889. The family later moved to Sudbury, Suffolk where their daughter Winifred was born in 1898. After William retired, the family moved to Worthing, living in Belsize Road. Jane died on 26th March 1913. William died in 1915 and was buried beside her at Heene.
NB due to changes in Welsh county boundaries and preference for more Welsh spelling of place-names, the same area would often be referred to by several different names. Portmadoc became Porthmadog, Caernarvonshire and Merionethshire border each other and Glamorgan was one of the historic counties which contained all the above as well as Festiniog and Ynyscynhaiarn.
