Life story

When Jane Oldrey was born in July 1843, her father, farmer, Richard Oldrey, was 39, and her mother, Emma Barker, was 20. She married Thomas Devitt in 1874 in Malta.  Thomas worked for a marine cable company. They had two children, Norah and Winifred. Jane died on 9 August 1920 having lived 77 years, and was buried in West Worthing, Sussex.
