Isabella Greene (nee Taylor) was born in 1843 in Philadelphia USA to George Arthur and Mary Ann (also called Marianne) Taylor. George Taylor was a surgeon, MD and Deputy Inspector General of Army Hospitals. Isabella had 2 known siblings Arthur William Forbes Taylor born 1858 Colchester Essex and Mary Gertrude Taylor, born 1853 Ipswich Suffolk.
Isabella married Frederick William Greene on 5th December 1868 in Folkestone Kent, where Isabella was living at the time of her marriage. There are no records of any children being born.
Frederick was a surgeon; he passed his Royal College of Surgeons exam on 25th June 1861 and was admitted a member of the Royal College of Surgeons. He also passed an examination on the 29th August 1861 in the Science and Practice of Medicine and was admitted Licentiate of the Society of Apothecaries.
In 1891 Isabella is staying with her Brother-in-Law Edward Campbell Greene at 26 St. Leonards Terrace, Royal hospital, Chelsea, London. Frederick is not living there and his whereabouts are unknown.
In 1896 Frederick and Isabelle were living at Boyne Hill Avenue, Maidenhead, Berkshire, when Frederick died on 15th July 1896. He left just £38 7s 7d (£3117 in 2020) to Isabella.
In 1911 Isabella is living on her own with one servant, and living on private means. She is living at 161 Barcombe Avenue, Streatham Hill, London.
Between 1911 and 1920 she moved to Loralai Belsize road, Worthing, Sussex, She died on 27th March 1920 and left an amount of £2221 19s 7d (£64537 in 2020) with probate to her Brother William Forbes Taylor.
