Life story

Henry Wilson was born on 6th May 1847 in Islington, he was baptised on 18th July 1847 at Christ Church Greyfriars, Newgate, London. He was the son of James, 34yrs, Solicitor's Clerk, and Eliza, 26yrs, nee Pullen. Henry had 6 siblings, 2 sisters and 4 brothers.

Henry began a career with the railway as a clerk, eventually becoming an accountant and remained in this occupation until his retirement.

On 9th November 1867 he married Alice Beckley, at St. Andrews. Islington, they were both 20yrs of age. For the next 40yrs, they lived in London, they had no children, and after 1911 they moved to Worthing, Sussex, where they lived at 'Eudion' Heene Road.

On 6th September 1917, Henry died in Worthing, aged 70yrs, probate was granted to Alice Wilson, widow, and   Edward Wilson, builder's clerk, effects £2999 5s 10d. Value 2022 - £221,600.
