Life story

Harriett Elizabeth Reeder was born in Marham, Norfolk, she was baptised on 27th May 1855. Harriett was the daughter of Henry Reeder, 50yrs, Agricultural Labourer, and Sarah, 44yrs, nee Parnell, and was the youngest of at least 6 children.

On 22nd April 1878, Harriett, 23yrs, married Frederick Edwin Robinson, 24yrs, Draper, in Marham, Norfolk. They started married life in Wimbledon, Frederick was a tailor in 1881 and they had 2 children, Ethel b.1879, and Sylvester b.1880; ten years later they were in Walthamstow, Essex, and had 2 more children, Eva, b.1888, and Kenneth, 1890. Frederick was now a Salvationist preacher.

Over the next 20yrs, Harriett and Frederick lived in Colchester, 1901, and Dovercourt, Essex, 1911, Frederick was now a Congregational Minister and their fifth child, Reg, was born in 1903. Harriett was widowed in 1919 when Frederick died, aged 65yrs, in Waltham Forest.

Harriett died in Worthing and was buried in Heene Cemetery on 2nd April 1928, aged 72yrs.
