He was baptised at Heene on 30th May 1895. Charles was a watercolour artist and the family lived in St Michael's Road. Jane died in 1904 and Charles moved the family to Tongdean, Brighton. In 1914, Harold joined the Navy. He was described as being 5 feet 8 inches tall with brown hair and grey eyes. He served as a clerk at Pembroke III, an accounting base, until March 1915. He was then transferred to HMS President at Chatham, Kent. In 1915, Harold was involved in a serious car accident in Brighton and was invalided out of the Navy. By 1921, he was living at 25 Ladbroke Road, Kensington. He later moved to 4c St Charles Square, Kensington, working as a sales rep. He never married. By 1950, Harold was living at 26 Woodstock Road, London W4. He died on 13th July 1950 at 8 Walsingham Road, Aldrington, Hove. His address was given as 26 Woodstock Road and 24 Brighton Road, Shoreham. Probate was granted on 3rd October to Mabel Vera Wood, wife of Bernard Frederick Wood.
