Also Gladys daughter of the above who died April 5th 1922 aged 36 years "For ever with the Lord" Life storyLife storyBoth Gladys and her sister, Eveline, were born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, but were British by parentage. Their mother, Diana Emily, nee Tibbits, was born in Leicestershire, and their father, Eli Ebenezer Hill, a stockbroker, was born in Somerset. In 1901 Gladys was a pupil at Benhilton College, a very small school in Sutton, run by her aunt Donna Maria Henry, her mother's sister. Gladys remained single but Eveline married John Abraham Nonhebel and had a son, Gordon. On 24 June 1905, Diana, Gladys, Eveline and 4 year-old Gordon arrived at Southampton from Rio de Janeiro. The 1911 Census shows them living in Worthing at St Chads (no.12) St Michael's Road. Eveline seems to have parted from her husband, who was still living. Also at St Chads was Kenneth Malcolm Templeton aged 3, described as a visitor. In fact, the boy was the son of Eveline and a man surnamed Templeton. At some point Kenneth was given the surname Nonhebel. Gladys died in Groombridge Nursing Home, Chaucer Road, Worthing, on 5 April 1922 aged 36. She had had an operation for a suppurating cyst of the ovary but died 4 hours later.Burial researcher: Angela Levy Further informationBirthDate born: 00/00/1885 DeathDeath (details)Date of death: 05/04/1922Age (at time of death): 36Cause of death: Suppurating Dermoid Cyst of Ovary; Operation Shock - 4 hoursAddress at time of death: Groombridge Nursing Home, Chaucer Road, Worthing, Sussex, EnglandUsual address at death: St. Chad's, St. Michael's Road, Worthing, Sussex, England Personal effectsExecutors: Eveline Nonhebel status: WidowProbate pounds: £3,405 Census and miscellaneous informationCensus information1901 census: Benhilton College, Burnell Road, Sutton, Surrey Donna Maria Henry, 59, head, widow, principal of school; Violet M Henry, 17, daughter, governess; Eric A Henry, 11, son; Agatha Phillips, 21, boarder, governess; Gladys Hill, 15, niece, pupil; J W G Prentice, 7, boarder, pupil; plus 1 domestic servant1911 census: St Chads, St Michael's Road, Worthing Diana Emily Hill, 65, head, widow; Eveline Nonhebel, 31, daughter, widow; Gladys Hill, 25, daughter; Gordon Nonhebel, 9, grandson; Kenneth Malcolm Templeton, 3, visitor; plus 1 servant1921 census: Living at 12, St. Michael's Road, Worthing, Sussex.
