She had 3 siblings, John Driver, 11yrs, Florence Chafer, 8yrs and Reginald Bertram, 3months. In 1888, aged 8yrs, Gertrude was admitted to Oxford Gardens School in Kensington and Chelsea, the family was living at 198, Lancaster Rd., Kensington. Her mother died in 1895 when Gertrude was 15yrs old, the family then moved to Lancashire. Gertrude's father remarried in 1904 and she moved with her father and stepmother Emily Florence, to Worthing where they lived at 9, Queen's Road. Gertrude Annie Dodsworth died in on 24th July 1909, aged 29yrs, at 9, Queen's Road, Worthing, she was unmarried. Her death certificate gave the cause of death as Pulmonary Tuberculosis, Asthenia.
