Life story

George Pell was born to parents Charles Camden Pell of Campbelltown, Middlesex and Emma Loft from Sittingbourne in Kent. He was the fourth of five children born to the couple. Siblings William 1849, Emma 1850, Charles 1853, George born 1856. Sister Louisa Kate was born in 1870. George's father worked as a cook throughout his lifetime and the family settled in Brighton. George marries Frances Eliza Lintott in Brighton in 1878 and the couple had two daughters in Brighton, Alice Charlotte 1879 and Frances Emma 1880. George was an upholsterer and the family had moved to Tunbridge Wells for a short while but settled in Worthing where he ran George Pell Ltd, a successful Furniture and Upholstery business and a funeral furnishing business, making top quality Polished Elm Coffins. The family lived at 29 and 31 Rowlands Road where the businesses were run from. Sadly, First born Alice Charlotte died at the age of 18 in 1897. The family also lived at 7 Ladydell Road in Worthing and the house was called "Heene". George regularly advertised his business in the Worthing Gazette.

The Last Will and Testament for George Pell was dated 16th July 1941 and has this signature:
