Life story

George Andrew Middlemiss was born on 4th July 1909 to George Whitson and Mary Mabel Middlemiss. They lived in Kirkgate Settle where George's Father was a GP and served in Gallipoli in WW1 attending to wounded soldiers taking them off the beaches and onto the hospital ships. He was made a Captain in the RAMC and obtained the Victory, British and 15 star medals. George Andrew died on 9th February 1919 at the Seabrook Nursing Home Queens Road Worthing of Tonsilitis and Septic Pneumonia; his Uncle John Booth was in attendance.
