The Rev. George Nelson Emmet, who died at Worthing on Saturday, had several Ealing connections. His mother formerly lived at 19, Madeley-road, his wife, who was a Miss Gruning, lived at 3, Blakesley Avenue, and he was a nephew of Col. C. A. Empson, 26. Grange-road. He was born July 1, 1870, and was ordained as curate of St. Andrew's, Leytonstone, in 1894. He afterwards held curacies at Edlesborough and Abbots Langley until 1906, when he was preferred to the living of Totternhoe. From 1920 until last September, when he resigned on account of failing health, he was vicar of Hartley Witney,

Newspaper report of the marriage of Rev. George N. Emmet to Miss Elise E. Gruning. 20.06.1900
The uncle of the bridegroom, the Rev. W. E. Emmet, with the Rev. H. E. Emmet (his brother) and the Rev. A. H. Parnell, officiated at the marriage of the Rev. George Nelson Emmet, the son of the late Mr. George Nelson Emmet, of Gordon Square, with Elise Emily, the daughter of the late Mr. Henry Gruning and Mrs. Gruning, of 3, Blakesley Avenue, Ealing. The ceremony took place at St. Peter's, Ealing, on the 20th ult. The service was fully choral, the hymns "Thine for ever," "0, Perfect Love,' and "Now thank we all our God" being sung. Mr. J. Cliffe Forrester was the organist. The bride was given away by her brother, Mr. H. H. Gruning. She wore a skirt and train of rich ivory duchesse satin, with a high Empire belt, the yoke and transparent sleeves being of tucked chiffon. The gown was enhanced with Brussels appliqué lace, and she carried a bouquet of choice white flowers. The bridesmaids were five in number. They were Miss Annie L. Gruning (sister of the bride), Miss Violet Schuster (her cousin), Miss A. H. Bradbury, Miss E. G. Wilson, and Miss A. Bramwell. They appeared in gowns of striped glace with white chiffon and vests of chiffon fastened with narrow green bands of velvet. Their presents from the bridegroom consisted of gold and pearl brooches and bouquets of lilies. Mr. Robert W. Emmet accompanied his brother as groomsman. The after reception was held at 3, Blakesley Avenue, when the guests included Sir Hermann, Lady, and the Misses Weber, Mr. L. Gruning, Dr. and Mrs. Schuster, Mr. H. H. Gruning, Mr. L. Gruning, Miss A. Gruning, Mr. R. W. Emmet, Rev.H. E. Emmet, Mrs. Empson, Mrs. A. Suckling Baron, Col., Mrs., and the Misses Empson, Rev. W. E., Mrs., and Miss Emmet, Mr. P. B. Emmet, Mr. Edward Emmet, Rev. A. H. and Mrs. Parnell, General and Mrs. Llanwell, Col. Jameson, Col., Mrs., and Miss Furlong, Mrs. C Emmet, Rev. A. G. Evans, and many others. The honeymoon is being passed in Devonshire. Mrs. G. N. Emmet travelled in a tailormade gown of grey cloth with a vest of white satin and lace, and a Tuscan hat having a white ostrich feather, chiffon, and black velvet The well-selected presents numbered 150, the cake coming from Messrs. W. and G. Buzzard.
