Story

George Augustus Frederick (known sometimes as Frederick) was born in Littlehampton, the son of Francis and Mary Ann. By 1881, the family were living in Western Row, Worthing and later moved to Thorn Terrace (Road). George trained as a whitesmith but later worked with his father as a plumber and painter. On 12th June 1897, George married Bessie Parker at Itchingfield near Horsham. The couple moved into 2 Heene Cottages in Heene Road. They had two children, Margaret and Harold. Bessie died on 4th September 1917 and was buried at Heene. George married again in 1927. His wife was Louisa Ayling. George died at 7 Thorn Road on 19th February 1938. Probate was granted on 11th May to George Martin timekeeper and Charles Frederick Norris friendly society secretary. Effects £4443 7s 7d. re-sworn £4204 12s 7d.

Louisa continued to live at 7 Thorn Road and died on 24th April 1951.
