His father was George, a clergyman from Somerset and his mother was Katharine Jessie Child-Freeman from Herefordshire. In 1891 he was living at 8a Willington Hall, Durham. He moved to Heene in 1892 when his father took up the post of Vicar of Heene Church. George died of acute laryngitis in March 1893 and was buried in Heene Cemetery on March 2nd, 1893 with Edgar Lambert officiating. George's parents had a daughter, Katherine Myra Faith on 26 March, 1897. Katherine married army office, John Nicole on 11th April 1918.
