When Frederick Augustus Renshawe was born on 8 February 1839 in Egham, Surrey, his father, John Renshawe, was 33 and his mother, Caroline Sarah Evans, was 24. He married Jessie Hargan in July 1872 in Croydon, Surrey. They had four children, Phyllis Annie Renshawe, Rupert Harry Renshawe, Leonora Edith Renshawe and Eric Gordon Renshawe. They retired to Rowlands Road, Worthing. He died on 9 January 1915 in Worthing, Sussex, having lived 75 years and was buried in Heene Cemetery.
