Life story

Frederick Bonamy Morris was born in Calcutta, India, on 20th April 1842; he was the son of Frederick John Morris, 32yrs, Civil Service Bengal, and Caroline Locke, 22yrs, nee Dobree. In 1845 his father died and his sister, Emma, was born. His widowed mother, with 2 children, returned to England and in 1851were living in Brighton, Frederick, aged 9yrs, was at boarding school.

On the 21st of January 1868 Frederick married Mary Frances Lamotte, 23yrs, at Hove Church, Brighton, it was a double wedding with Mary's sister, Emily Adelaide Lamotte, (see below).

There are no further census records until 1901 when Frederick and Mary are living in Chertsey, Surrey. They had no children. At some point they moved to Worthing, Sussex, and Frederick was widowed in January 1910, when Mary Frances died at Holmsdale, Lansdowne Road, 7 days short of their 42nd wedding anniversary.

In July 1910, Frederick, 68yrs, married again, Eileen Agnes Houliham, 28yrs, they had 2 sons, Frederick Henry James Bonamy Morris, b.1911, and Herbert Patrick Bonamy Morris, b.1913.

Frederick died, aged 86yrs, on 6th February 1928 at Woodcot, East Beach Road, Shoreham-by-Sea, Sussex, probate was granted to George Ernest Thomson, merchant, effects £358 9s 8d.
