Story
Information about Frederick’s father could not be found but his mother, Sarah, née Bains, was a widow by 1871 with 4 children, Frederick. at 15. being the youngest. Frederick was deaf, his brother, William B,19, a bootfitter , was deaf and dumb and their sister, Elizabeth, 17, a needlewoman, had fits. However, William’s sister, Sarah, also 19, (his twin ?) was not affected. On 5 April 1877, at Holy Trinity, Brompton, Middlesex, Frederick, now a gas fitter, married Harriet Louisa Stocker and they made their home at 6, Callow Street, Chelsea. Their daughter, Florence, died in 1900, at the age of 21, of pulmonary tuberculosis and is buried at Heene. Frederick, himself, was only 46 when he died on 20 December 1902, leaving £128 10s to his widow.
