Story

Frances was the daughter of Edwin Jesse Compton, a baker journeyman, and his wife, Mary, née Attewell, and the grand-daughter of Edwin Compton, a Worthing artist, who had a studio at 6, Chapel Road, Worthing. She was born in October 1892 and died on 5 December 1893 aged 15 months of delirium and diarrhoea with her father present at her death. Her mother had died aged 27 in August the same year of enteric fever and is also buried at Heene.
