She was baptised at All Hallows Church, Tottenham on 27th June 1881. Her father Edwin was a school teacher. By 1888, the family had moved to Hereford where Edwin opened a boarding school for boys. Her mother Amelia died this year. Frances grew up in Hereford but by 1911, she was working as a nurse in London at Guy's Hospital. After the war, Frances joined her family in Worthing, living at "Westbury" 37 Grand Avenue. She worked at Amatola Nursing Home in Shakespeare Road as a nurse and continued to do so until 1946. Her sister Constance also worked in the same home. Frances died on 8th December 1959 at Jacquaranda Nursing Home, 9 Ripley Road, Worthing.
