By 1901  the family had moved to Birmingham, where Florence’s Father was still working as a Shoemaker.

Florence doesn’t appear again until the 1921 census where she is working at the Fulham Infirmary in London as a sick nurse.  This infirmary was opened in 1884 on the same site and closely associated with the Fulham Union Workhouse, which were run by the Fulham Board of Guardians. Then in 1898 the hospital became a training school for nurses. It was taken over by the War Office in WW1, and it became the Fulham Military Hospital in 1925.

In 1939 Florence was a Qualified SRN and Midwife, and was working as a Matron in a nursing home.  She was living at 29 Cleveland Gardens in Paddington.

Florence married Robert Henry Mills on 18th March 1959 at the register office in Marylebone, London, they were both living at 12A Neville Court, Abbey Road, London.  Robert Henry Mills was born in Worthing in 1885 and became a Chartered Surveyor living in London, his first Wife had died in 1947, they had 3 Daughters.

Robert and Florence continued to live at Neville Court, Abbey Road in London until Robert’s death on 10th January 1963.  He left £64340 3s 10d (approx. £1.3m in 2020), and was buried in Heene Cemetery in Worthing. His family home was at 62 Gratwicke Road, Worthing. This was a convalescent home run by his widowed Sister, Georgina Tannar, a Matron.  Robert was the proprietor of the home.   Florence moved to 61 St. Johns Wood Court, St John’s Wood Road, London after her Husband’s death, where she died on the 3rd November 1965. She left £62155 (£1.2m in 2020) with probate to Coutts and Co. and William Oliver Farrer, Solicitor. She was buried with her Husband in Heene cemetery.
