Life story

Life story

Florence was the daughter of William Mallinson Martin, who was at various times a tobacconist, newspaper correspondent, collector and cashier. Her mother was Jane Ann Martin nee Wood. Florence was born in 1868 but wasn't baptised until she was nearly 4 years old at St Mark's church, Battersea, along with her brother Frank who was 8 and sister Emily who was 10. Florence became a dressmaker and later ran a confectioner's in Rowlands Road, Worthing with sister Emily. Florence died on 29th September 1930 of heart disease in Graylingwell Hospital, Chichester. Administration of her will was granted to Emily Martin spinster. Effects £244 19s 10d.
