Florence was born in Kensington, daughter of Henry James Marmion Bramall and Rose (Dalton). She was baptised in St James' Norland, in Kensington. Henry, described as a Gentleman on Florence's Baptismal record, was born in Tamworth in 1824, and was a qualified Lawyer. Rose was born in Islington in 1829.
In 1861, living in St James' Square, Kensington, were Henry, described as a Secretary to Friends of the Clergy, with wife Rose and their first child, 2-year-old Rose Dalton. They had a Nurse and a Cook.
In 1871 the Bramall family was still living in St James' Square, Kensington. Henry was a Gentleman, with wife Rose, daughters Rose Dalton and Florence, and son Charles Frederick Henry. They had a Cook, Nurse and Housemaid.
The family had moved as Lodgers to Medina Villas, in Hove, by 1881. Henry was described as a Retired Solicitor.
(Henry and Rose ended their days at St Pierre, Manor Road, Heene. They are buried together in the Cemetery as well as their single daughter Rose, who died 2 years before Florence. Their son Charles, who only lived to his 10th year is remembered on their memorial..
In memoriam Charles Frederick Henry Bramall died July 30th 1878 aged 10 years and 7 months. And his father Henry James Marmion Bramall died March 26th 1905 aged 81 years. Also his mother Rose died Febry. 5th 1916 aged 86 years.)
On the 9th February 1884, Florence married Charles Kelly, in St Andrew's Church, Hove. Charles was described on their marriage certificate as a Gentleman, and his father, a Clerk in Holy Orders. Charles' brother Walter Kelly married them. Florence's father was also a Gentleman. Witnesses were Henry and Rose Bramall, and Persis Kelly (Charles's sister).
In 1891, now a Wine Merchant, Charles was living in Claremont Terrace, in Preston, Hove.He and Florence had a 5 year-old daughter, Norah, (their only child), and 2 Domestic Servants.
They had moved to Lambeth by 1901, Charles now a Banker's Clerk again. They now had just one Servant, a Cook.
They moved back to Sussex by 1911, living in Cowper Road. Charles was now a Bank Manager, Norah was single at 25, and they had a Housemaid and a Cook.
In Kelly's 1914 Directory, Charles was described as Esq. at Davaar, 13 Cowper Road. When Charles died, in 1916, at St Botolph's Nursing Home in Richmond Road, his address was Davaar.
In 1921, Florence and Norah, with one Domestic Servant, were living at Hill Croft, Findon.
Florence, Norah and, again, one Servant were living at 103 Offington Avenue in 1939. That was Florence's address when she died.
