Life story

Life story

Florence was born in Stonham, Suffolk, the daughter of the Rev. Harry Dallimore and his wife Florence. She was baptised at St Mary's Church, Stonham. Her father was curate in charge at Hevingham in Norfolk by 1881. Later, the family moved to Halvergate in Norfolk when Harry was appointed vicar. He died in the village in 1921. Florence and her mother moved to Worthing, living at "Sunnycroft" in Rowlands Road. Florence's mother died in 1931 and was buried at Heene. Her brother Harry and his wife Elizabeth moved to Worthing at the beginning of the war and joined her at "Sunnycroft". Florence was still living there in 1953. She died on 7th June 1953 at Teralta Nursing Home in Church Walk, Worthing. Probate was granted on 31st August to Harry Douglas Dallimore linen merchant and Basil William Seymour Irwin MC investment manager. Effects £4442 18s 6d.
