Life story

Life story

Fanny Tribe was born in Fittleworth, Sussex, she was baptised on 21st August 1825. Her parents were, John Tribe, 36yrs, Farmer, and Harriett Tribe, 34yrs.

In 1856, aged 30yrs, Fanny married Walter Sanders, 27yrs, her first cousin, in Worthing. They moved to Stopham Road, Pulborough, where they lived for over 35yrs, they had no children.

Walter was a Lime Sand and Chemical Agent, and in his early sixties, he and Fanny retired to a property named Normanhurst in Worthing. Fanny was widowed when Walter died on 12th September 1897, aged 68yrs. She remained in Worthing and died on 28th May 1900, aged 74yrs.
