Life story

Ethel Sophia Manby (nee Brough) also known as Emma, was born on 28th November 1860 in Camberwell London to Thomas and Sarah Brough. Thomas worked as a fishmonger in 1861, then by 1871 he was working as a clerk. The family lived at 66 Kings Street, Southwark, London

Ethel married Francis Harmer Manby on the 21st August 1884 in Newington Surrey.

The couple had 3 children-

Harold Francis George Manby born 1885 Fulham London died 1937 Battersea London

Reginald Lyndsay Manby born 1887 Fulham London died 1968 Surrey

Muriel Pernell Manby born 1892 Fulham London died 1955 Worthing
