John Skelton Clarke King 1889 – 1916. – War Casualty
John was born in Windsor, Berkshire, registered March quarter 1889.
He trained as a solicitor and qualified c1912 when he set up practice at Belle Vue Gardens, Brighton.
When war broke out in 1914, he enlisted with the Oxford and Bucks Light Infantry, acquiring the rank of 2nd Lieutenant.
In April 1916 he married Maude Aimee Jubb, (born Paris) in Brighton.
3rd May 1916 John, 28yrs, was killed in action in France – he was awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal.
Probate was granted to his widow, effects £18147 19s 1d. Value 2022 – £1.68m.
