Life story

Ellen worked as a domestic cook. By the time of her death, she was working for two ladies in Manor Road. Her nephew James Riddles died of typhoid in August. Ellen was admitted to the Temporary Hospital in High Street shortly after James's death and died 40 days later on 4th October. Both are buried at Heene.

Four of the Riddles family died of Typhoid between August and October. Two are buried at West Tarring.
