Life story

Elizabeth Green 1831 - 1920 b. Elizabeth Norman in Bethnal Green Elizabeth was born in 1830 in Bethnal Green to Thomas Norman, who worked as a carman. Very little is known about Elizabeth's early life until she married packer, Thomas Gostick on Christmas Day 1848 at St. Matthew's Church, Bethnal Green.

Their first child, Thomas was born in 1849 followed by Elizabeth b. 1852, Clara b,1854, James b 1857 and William Gostick b. 1860. They lived near the Hackney Road, Bethnal Green. In the 1861 census, Elizabeth was listed as a shoe binder.

When Elizabeth was widowed she married Henry William Green, a cooper, on 1st April 1877 at St. John of Jerusalem, South Hackney. Henry died in Crossley Green, Watford on 28th April 1906.
