Life story

Life story

Elizabeth was born on the 28th January 1870 in Dartford Kent to Robert and Ellen Browne. Robert was a Rector and M.A. of Trinity college.  He was the Rector in many areas Curate of Margate Kent 1858-61 Curate of St. Matthews, Denmark Hill, London 1862-64 Curate of St. Mary, Islington 1864-66 Rector of Eynsford Kent 1871-77 Rector of St. Clements, Ipswich 1877-90 Rector of Hale, Farnham 1890 -94 Rector of Fawley, Hampshire 1894 until his death.

After her Father's death Elizabeth was living with her Mother Ellen and siblings at Clifton Lodge,  4 Holford Road, Hampstead. Elizabeth is not showing as working. Elizabeth's mother remained at Holford road until her death in 1915. 

By 1939 Elizabeth and her Sister Lucy Muriel had moved to Worthing and were living at 9 Salisbury Road, Worthing Elizabeth died on 19th January 1944 still living at Salisbury Road, and left an amount of £6319 15s 1d (approx. £224,000 in 2020) to her Sister Lucy should she survive her for 28 days.  

Strangely Lucy died in the same year but on 25th November 1944 so would have inherited her Sister's estate. 

The Last Will and Testament for Elizabeth Richenda Browne was dated 22nd April 1925 and has this signature:
