Life story

Life story

Eliza was born in Bermondsey, the daughter of Benjamin and Emily. She was baptised at Christ Church, Bermondsey on 25 Apr 1869. Eliza was educated at Woods Road School, Southwark with her sister Amy. By 1901, she was working as a cook in Camberwell. Her sister Emily was also employed in the same house as a parlourmaid. Eliza was one of the sisters who visited Worthing before the family moved down here in 1914. She helped her mother run a boarding house at 32 Thorn Road. Eliza died c22 Feb 1929 and was buried at Heene on 25 Feb. No Probate.
