Life story

Eliza Moir was born in St. Marylebone, London, in 1843, Sept. q., her father was William Moir, Gentleman.

Eliza married Samuel Robinson Gale, a commercial clerk on 22nd August 1867, at St. Stephen's, Canonbury Road, Islington, they were both 23yrs. They had no children and remained in the Islington area for about 20yrs, moving to Hornsey, Middlesex, and then to Croydon before retiring to Worthing where they lived at 20, St. Matthew's Road, in 1911.

Eliza was widowed when Samuel died, aged 78yrs, on 8th June 1922, she continued to live in Worthing, moving to 14, Christchurch Road, where she died, aged 87yrs, on 19th January 1931. Probate was granted to Jane Sheppard, widow, effects £366 1s 4d. Value 2021 - £25K.
