Death and Funeral of Mr Charles Sharood - Mr Charles Sharood died at his residence, Amwell place, High street, on Sunday week, at the advanced age of 78years. He was appointed the first Town Clerk of Brighton on the 7th June, 1854, and held the office until his resignation in December 1862. Upon the severance of his connection with the Corporation, Mr Sharood took offices in Ship street, where he has since carried on the practice of solicitor. Mr Sharood was twice married. By his first wife he leaves a grown-up family, and by his second marriage a young widow and three children. The funeral took place at the Parish Churchyard on Thursday morning, the body being interred in the south western portion of the ground. A number of floral offerings, sent by sympathetic friends, were laid on the coffin. Messrs. Hannington had charge of the arrangements.
