Life story

Edward Barry Owen was born in Worthing in March 1924. His father, Sydney Maldon was born in China where his father was a professor of Chinese. His mother was Ida Beatrice Hancock, a Liverpool born, teacher. In 1921, Sydney was listed on the census as a fruit grower at 4 Wallace, Elm Grove, Worthing. He had one brother and three sisters. He died in January 1925 and was buried in Heene Cemetery, Sussex.
