Life story

Edward Benjamin Crabb was born in 1861, his father, Thomas Crabb, 25yrs, was a Clerk and his mother, Elizabeth, 35yrs. He had 2 older sisters, Caroline 6yrs and Ellen 3yrs; they lived at 2, Almond Villas, Lambeth. His brother, Ernest Arthur was born in 1864 and as adults both Edward and Ernest followed their father's profession of Accountancy.

Edward married Edith Isabelle Firth, 26yrs. on 8th September 1887, at Holy Trinity, Tulse Hill and they moved to Sevenoaks, Kent, where they had 3 children, Cyril, in 1892, Doris in 1896 and Herbert in 1897. In 1901 the family was living in Coulsdon, Croydon, Edward was now a chartered accountant working at 52, Cannon Street, EC.

Edward Benjamin Crabb of Glen-Lyn, Harrow Road, Worthing, died on July 22nd 1902 aged 41yrs. He left estate of £166 10s 1d to his widow, value 2020 - £20K. His death certificate gave the cause of death as "Tubercular Phthisis, Asthenia".
