Life story

Dorothy was born in Ewelme, Oxfordshire, the daughter of John and Mary. She was baptised at Ewelme on 3rd November 1895. her father was a farm worker. Little is known about her life until she came to Worthing. In 1939, Dorothy was living with Miss Susan Turner (also buried at Heene) as her housekeeper, at "Sea Breeze" 7 St Valerie Road. After Susan's death in 1953, Dorothy lived at 24 Brooke Road, Princes Risborough in Buckinghamshire. She died on 17th January 1965 at Southcourt House, Linslade, Leighton Buzzard. Probate was granted on 24th February to Westminster Bank Ltd. Effects £12477.00.
