The maiden name of her mother, Charlotte Silvestre, was Vaughan. Her father, Edward Jury, was a clerk in various businesses including a theatrical agency. The household usually included a general domestic servant. However, the 1901 Census shows no servant but does record two boarders, perhaps indicating reduced circumstances. Charlotte Crighton Jury died on 3 March 1907 of heart failure after suffering from influenza and double pneumonia for 8 days. Her last address was Archfield, Wykeham Road, Worthing, the home of Edwin Docker, a schoolmaster. His wife, Della Louise Docker was with Charlotte at the end. They described her as a 'loving and devoted friend'.
