Life story

Charles Frederick Albert May was born in 1888 in Paddington to Charles Frederick May, Born Bermondsey, London and Edith Mary Chapman Born Paddington London. Fredericks parents are married on 13th December 1897 in All Saints, Notting Hill London. Charles was the eldest child and had a younger Brother and sister Sydney May born 1904, Lillian Edith born 1909 all three children are born in London. His father works as a journeyman tailor In 1911 the family were now settled living in Worthing at 18 Thorn Road, Worthing, and his father is now working as a Tailor. In 1921 the family is living at 11, Thorn Road, Charles, senior, runs his tailoring business from home, and Charles, junior, is an assistant tailor to his father.

Charles Frederick May, junior, dies, aged 23 in Worthing, on 28th January 1922. His family remain in Worthing and Father dies in Chichester in 1934 and mother dies in 1966 at the grand age of 93. Brother Sydney lives in Worthing with his wife and family and works as a chauffeur, he dies in 1980. Sister Lilian Edith marries in 1947 and works as a Drapers clerk, she dies in Worthing in 1991
