Castilia was born on 14th August 1849 in London to James and Rebecca Stapleton (nee Bull). James was a Landed Proprietor which means he owned land. The family were living at the High Street, Clapham, London in 1851.

Castillia married John Osborne Roche in 1875, Hastings, Sussex. By 1881 John and Castillia and their 2 children William Edward, born 1877 and Fanny born 1879, are living with Castillia's Mother Rebecca Stapleton in Christchurch, Kent. John is working as a Market man / Tea trader.
By 1891 John is living on his own means. They now have another child Gilbert Stapleton Roche born 1882.
By 1901 the children have left home and John and Castillia are living in Isle of Thanet, Broadstairs, Kent. Living with them is Castillia's Sister Anna Glode Stapleton.
In 1911 they have moved to Bognor Regis, Sussex along with Anna Glode Stapleton.
Castillia died on 1st May 1919 at Fernlea, Belsize Road, Worthing, and was buried in Heene Cemetery. She left an amount of £267 11s 8d (£7758 in 2020) with administration to Daniel Kenneth Capper Birt solicitor attorney of Gilbert Stapleton Roche (son). After his Wife's death John moved to the New Forest, Hampshire. He died there on the 23rd June 1943, but was buried with his Wife in Heene Cemetery, Worthing. There does not appear to be a will for him.
