Life story

When Brenda Louise Ashbee was born in Exeter in 1845, her father, Robert Ashbee, a metal dealer was 45, and her mother, Jane Elizabeth Pearce, was 44. She married Alfred Mayo Hawthorn on 13 January 1874 in Battersea, Surrey. They had three children. Brenda retired to Heene House, Worthing in 1912 with her bank manager husband. She died in October 1932 in Heene House, Heene Road, Worthing. at the age of 87.
