Life story

Life story

Annie was born in Boscombe, the daughter of George and Ann. Her father was a stockman who often lodged in London after taking cattle to market. By 1891 the family were living in Patching, Sussex. Annie found work in London, employed as a housemaid by a wine broker in Putney. For a while she worked as a housekeeper at a hotel in Earl's Court. In 1917, Annie married Frank Cooper in Worthing. He was a carpenter and had lost his wife Emily the year before. The couple lived at 16 Milton Street, Worthing. They had no children. Annie died at 193 Upper Shoreham Road, Shoreham on 12th March 1939. Probate was granted to Frank Cooper on 12th May. Effects £26 19s 2d. Annie was buried at Heene with her husband's parents.

Frank married for a third time in 1945. He died in 1954.
