Story
Annie was born in Worthing, the daughter of John and Sarah Parsons. She was baptised at Broadwater church on 27th April 1884. Her father was a plasterer and the family lived in Surrey Street. As a young woman, Annie worked as a Post Office clerk. On 15th February 1908, Annie married Ernest Frederick Bacon a plumber, at St Paul’s Church, Worthing. The couple settled in Worthing, living at “Durban” in Highdown Avenue. Their son Albert Ernest was born in 1910. By 1924, the family were living above the shop at 22 The Broadway, Tarring Road. Ernest died here after a long illness on 18th June 1929. In 1934, Annie was living at 82 Tarring Road. By the time of the 1939 Register, she was living at 41 Mill Road. She died here on 18th January 1949. Probate was granted on 25th May to Barclays Bank Ltd. Effects £10636 13s 8d.
