Anna was born about 1837 in Uplyme, near Lyme Regis in Devon. Her father, William, was a Cheese Dealer in Uplyme and Anna Maria was the 3rd child of William and wife Lydia's six children. William was born in Uplyme in about 1810, Lydia in Axminster in about 1806. There were several Beere families in Uplyme, including William's parents, Charles and Ann.
The family was still in Uplyme in 1851, the oldest 2 boys now Labourers.
Anna's younger brother, Levi, became a property developer in Yeovil, and was also a Cheese Merchant.
In 1861 Anna was a Nurse in Plymouth (a move of over 70 miles) in the household of Captain John Edward and Mary Davis, looking after their five children (they were to have 8 altogether). He was a Naval Captain, born in Gosport, retired by 1871 and by then living in Park Row, Greenwich with 4 children and two Domestic Servants Anna Maria and Eliza Cooke. Wife Mary was born in Cheam. Son Percy was also in the Navy, working in the Office for Nautical Almanacs.
By 1881 Anna was living with Mary Jane Davis, now widowed, in Grafton Road, Worthing as a General Domestic Servant. There were just the two of them in the household.
Between 1881 and 1888 Mary Jane moved to St Michael's Road, where Anna died.
