https://www.heenecemetery.org.uk/related-lives/george-christopher-battiscombe-buried-1948Alwin Street was born in Wiston, Sussex, in 1822, to Richard Street and Fanny, nee Floate, he was baptised on 28th January. In 1849, aged 27yrs, Alwin married Sarah Williams in Worthing. In 1851 they lived as lodgers at the home of the Dennis family in Broadwater, Alwin was a Police Officer, Sarah was a Dressmaker and they had a daughter, Selina, aged 1yr. 

They moved from Worthing to Guildford and then to Portsmouth where Alwin was employed as a Railway Porter before returning to Worthing where he became a Gardener. During this period, they had another 6 children, Alan, Seymour, Julia, Alwin, Rosina and William. They lived at 6, Heene Mews, Worthing. By 1891 Alwin, 69yrs, and family, had moved to 6, Milton Street, Worthing, he was now working as a Bath Chairman as was his son, Alwin Richard, 30yrs. Alwin Street died aged 73yrs, in March 1895. 

The curate, Rev G C Battiscombe, conducted Alwin's funeral service at Heene on 25th March 1895.
