Life story

Life story

Alma was born in 1856 in Worthing to Samuel and Emily. Samuel worked as an Agricultural Labourer. In 1861 the family lived at 22 South Street, West Tarring. In 1871 Alma moved to Omega Cottage Ann Street Worthing where she worked as a General Servant to Edward Snewin, a builder employing 14 men and 1 boy (The rest of the family were living at no. 1 Cook's Row) Alma died on 14th August 1880 at Heene Worthing, of Consumption which she had suffered from for a year and exhaustion for 1 month, her Mother was in attendance. Her Mother who is now a widow was living at 4 Clump Square, Heene.
