Story

Alice was born in Worthing, the daughter of Richard Lightfoot Hollands and Mary Ann. The family lived in St George’s Terrace before moving to Hertford Road. Alice was baptised at St George’s Church on 4 May 1873. Richard was a builder. Alice married William Henry Kent at Heene church on 4 Oct 1896. William was the brother of Minnie Kent who is also buried at Heene. His family came from Sompting. Alice and William made their home firstly in Becket Road and then later in Milton Street. They had two children, William b.1900 and Ellen Elizabeth b. 1901. By 1911, the family were living in Milton Street. The cause of death on 29th June 1915 was given as “degeneration of the spinal cord” No probate.
