Life story

Alice Ellen Eade was born on 20th July 1849 in Islington, London, she had 6 siblings, George b.1843, Mary Ann b.1845, James b.1847, William b.1851, Julia b.1853, and Arthur b.1855. She was baptised on 18th July 1851 at St. Luke, Finsbury, along with her brothers, James and William. Her parents were, George Eade, 33yrs, Chemist, and Ann, 32yrs, nee Ashdown.

Alice and her family lived in Finsbury until she was in her twenties, by which time her father had died and her brothers, George and James had taken over the Chemist's business. By 1881 the family had moved to Stoke Newington where they remained until 1901 when they lived in Bromley, Kent.

Alice never married and in 1909, on 9th September, she died at Kingsdene, Shelley Road, Worthing, aged 60yrs. Probate was granted to her sister, Julia Harriet Eade, spinster, and brother, James Eade, Manufacturing Chemist. Effects £3372 0s 8d. Value 2021 - £411K.
