Albert was born in Petworth, the son of James and Ann. He was baptised in the town on 6 Jan 1861. By 1881, Albert had moved away from Petworth and moved in with his brother-in-law Frederick Poland in Worthing. Albert stayed with the family until his death and never married. Albert died on 22 Mar 1904 of tuberculosis of the lungs, thickened pleura and heart failure. He was buried at Heene on 26 Mar 1904. No probate.
