Life story

Ada Maria was born on 11th February 1841 in Wellingborough Northants to Francis Benjamin and Maria Woods (nee Hollis).  Francis Benjamin was a Surgeon and Apothecary and lived in Northants.

In1841 the family are living at Sheep Street Northamptonshire.

In 1861 Ada is boarding at St. Michaels College, south Bersted, Bognor, Sussex, where she is working as a Pupil Teacher.

In 1871 Ada is a Governess to John Samuel Bowles a Magistrate, Landowner, living at Milton Hill House, Oxford.

In 1881 she is lodging at 7 Mount Street Taunton Somerset.

At some point between 1881 and 1887 Ada moved to Worthing and was living at Heene Villa. She died on the 4th October 1887 at Heene Villa and left an estate of £1018 4s 4d administration of the estate was to Edward William Woods, her brother.
